From just a slight chest pain to getting a major heart attack may not take more than seconds. Is there a way to give us a signal of an approaching heart attack? Till now – NO but, maybe the iWatch could change this. There have already been numerous rumours about the upcoming wearable from Apple i.e. the iWatch having the ability to detect an heart attack. And, with this retweet below, did Apple CEO, Tim Cook confirm those rumours?
Anyways, Apple desperately needs a new product line as it has been 4 years since the iPad was launched in 2010. And, the new product line from Apple to disrupt the TV industry and the health focussed wearable ‘iWatch’ have been in the pipeline for a long time.
In fact, Apple had hired very impressive talent to design the iWatch. The rumours indicate experienced doctors & health professionals now working for Apple. This includes Nike design director Ben Shaffer. Surprisingly Tim Cook is also on the Board of Nike and given the above tweet, there is perhaps lot of collaboration between Apple and Nike for the iWatch.
The iWatch is rumoured to have various sensors which may help one detect an approaching heart attack. Even, at this years WWDC, Apple launched Health – an app to keep a track of all things regarding your fitness. It shows individual biometric data like blood pressure, weight, and activity levels. The iWatch may be very well integrated with Health. This may also give Apple a very good selling point over its competitors like Samsung Gear, Pebble, Fitbit etc.
Apple has been promising new categories since a while now. So this year, along with the new iPhones (rumoured to have larger screen) and iPad, we will most probably get to see the iWatch too.
